Jessica Gavin’s homemade orange-cranberry sauce recipe

Fresh cranberries are rarely eaten raw because they are mouth-puckeringly sour on their own. To sweeten up the sauce’s flavor, I use orange juice, honey, and a whole cinnamon stick. In a saucepan, simmer the berries down in a citrus syrup until you hear the sound of the berries popping come to a stop. This process takes about 20 minutes, then you’ll have a naturally-sweetened cranberry-orange sauce.
